Emergency Communication Training

RI ARES Net  - Not operational at this time

The RI ARES NET offers items on-the-air training in Emergency Communications Topics.  This training is in conjunction with our statewide NET which would be operating during  emergency incident,  our served agencies needs,  ARRL annual SET and anticipated natural disasters and potential terrorist attacks that will most likely impact Rhode Island. All local city/ town  EMA Operation Center amateur stations  and  amateur operators are invited to participate.

RI ARES Net  is the EmComm direct link  for amateur radio for Rhode Island. 

The RI ARES NET schedule is on the first and third Monday of every month at 8 pm on the 146.700 repeater. We look forward to having you  check-in

ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Communication Courses

For those interested in Emergency Communications training, please contact  the  ARRL for on-line Continuing Education courses in Emergency Communication. They have three (3) excellent EmComm courses (EC-001, EC-002, EC-003).    

Completing  all three (3) courses places you on the Amateur Radio Emergency Communication Course Honor Roll

 

FEMA Department  of Home Land Security

The FEMA on line courses  provide the basic introductory training needed to participate with FEMA regulated programs.   Amateur operator are encourages to obtain their on-line training here of the very soon to be mandated ICS 100 and 700 courses.
